Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) suffers a major blow with the imposition of governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The party missed the opportunity to save its provincial government and secure concessions for Imran Khan.

According to party sources, there was a possibility of concessions during negotiations, including meetings with Imran Khan, the release of his sisters, and medical treatment. However, the final agreement was not reached, and expected concessions did not materialize.

Sohail Afridi’s harsh statements and Mahmood Achakzai’s precondition for a meeting created obstacles in negotiations. The federal government issued a notification for military deployment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

For PTI, losing the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa means losing a political stronghold. This failure is a significant loss for the party amid demands for Imran Khan’s release and relief.
