Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi begins free cancer treatment using cryoablation machines, offering hope to patients.
Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Holy Family Hospital has launched cancer treatment using cryoablation machines. This advanced treatment is provided free of charge, with no fees for patients.
The hospital has received 15 probes, each valued at 1.6 million rupees. Each probe will be used for the treatment of one patient only.
Patient screening for cryoablation has begun in four government hospitals, including Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital, and PKLI.
Cryoablation is effective for patients with cancer tumors up to 2 centimeters in size. The procedure freezes tumors at minus 180 degrees and burns them at 100 degrees to eliminate them.
It is noteworthy that expert doctors from Noori Hospital Islamabad will consult with patients. In the first phase, 15 patients will be treated, with more probes to be provided for additional patients.
