Washington: (RightNow) The Chinese government has seized sensitive components of the US F-35 stealth fighter jet. These parts were being shipped from Australia to the US but mysteriously ended up in Hong Kong.

Sources reveal that in late May, the cockpit canopy and weapons-bay door of an Australian military F-35 jet were being sent to the US via UPS. These parts were coated with special material enhancing the jet’s stealth capabilities.

The flight made a stop in South Korea and was then diverted to Hong Kong. It remains unclear why the aircraft stopped in South Korea or was sent to Hong Kong. The Chinese government has seized these parts and has not returned them.

This incident is concerning for the US government as it involves sensitive technology. At least two committees in the US Congress are investigating how these parts ended up in Chinese hands.

It is noteworthy that the US Department of Defense has stated they are working on retrieving these parts and implementing security measures to prevent future incidents.
