Islamabad: (RightNow) The government has significantly increased the prices of petroleum products, raising the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel. The new prices will be effective from September 8, 2026.

The price of petrol has been increased by Rs 12.90 per liter, now reaching Rs 358.77 per liter. High-speed diesel has seen a rise of Rs 3.72, making it Rs 381.77 per liter.

Officials have issued a notification stating that this increase is under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism. This move is expected to raise citizens’ expenses.

The rise in petrol prices will affect private travel needs, while the increase in diesel prices will raise costs in the transport and freight sectors.

It is noteworthy that due to the Middle East situation, the government decided on daily petroleum price determination. Since July 17, petrol prices have decreased 12 times and increased 19 times.
