In the accident, 38-year-old Haseeb Ahmed died on the spot, while 80-year-old Fareeda Begum sustained severe injuries. The car driver, Muhammad Ahmed, suffered minor injuries. The injured were transferred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Jaranwala.
Motorway police and rescue teams promptly completed relief operations. Traffic has been restored. Police are investigating further causes of the accident.
