Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with UN Secretary-General candidate Ambassador Olara Otunnu. Former Ugandan Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda accompanied him.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch were also present. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the UN Charter.

The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan will ensure respect for international laws and agreements. He stressed the need to strengthen the UN to tackle global challenges.

The Prime Minister pledged continued support for the UN’s effective role. He stated that strengthening the UN platform is a necessity of the time.

It is noteworthy that Ambassador Olara Otunnu praised Pakistan’s global services. He also commended Pakistan’s role in international peace and security.
