Seoul: (RightNow) South Korea decides to provide free and unlimited Artificial Intelligence (AI) services to its approximately 52 million citizens. This initiative aims to assist citizens in health, finance, and daily life challenges.

Under the government plan ‘AI for Everyone’, citizens will gain access to advanced chatbots. Through this initiative, South Korea is set to become the first country to recognize AI as a public necessity.

The Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea announced the selection of 3 syndicates from 6 companies for this project. They will be provided with 512 Nvidia B200 Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

This move is intended to expand the local AI ecosystem, with the government planning to cover all service costs from 2027.

It is noteworthy that agreements with selected groups are expected by September, and after the beta launch, the service will be fully operational by the end of the year.
