New Delhi: (RightNow) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced free online coaching and artificial intelligence (AI) training for youth. This announcement was made during his speech at the historic Red Fort on India’s Independence Day.

Modi stated that this initiative aims to reduce the financial burden of coaching fees on students and their families. Due to intense competition for government jobs and educational institution admissions, students often turn to private coaching centers.

The Prime Minister revealed that one crore (10 million) youths will receive AI training in the coming year. The government claims that training in modern technology will increase employment opportunities.

In India, private coaching for competitive exams has become an industry, placing financial strain on families. Modi mentioned that free coaching will allow students to study closer to home.

It is noteworthy that exam paper leaks and recruitment controversies in India have caused unrest among the youth. Following these protests, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign.
