Islamabad: (RightNow) The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. Afridi is facing charges related to allegations against state institutions.

Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah presided over the hearing, where Afridi’s absence led to the issuance of the warrant. The court has ordered Afridi’s arrest and presentation before the court.

The court expressed displeasure over Afridi’s failure to appear and warned that proceedings to declare him a proclaimed offender would commence if he remains absent.

The Senior Civil Judge has adjourned the hearing until September 3. This case holds significant importance concerning national security.

It is noteworthy that a case against Sohail Afridi has been registered under the PECA Act by the NCCIA.
