Islamabad: (Right Now News) Over the past four years, 335 Pakistanis have died in boat accidents while attempting to reach Europe. These incidents occurred during efforts to travel to Europe via illegal means.
Since June 2023, seven major boat accidents have been reported. According to the FIA, the loss of life in these accidents is extremely severe.
In June 2023, a boat heading to Greece met with an accident, carrying 226 Pakistanis. Out of these, 207 died, and only 19 survived.
The government has implemented measures to curb human smuggling, resulting in a 64% decrease in attempts during the first two months of this year.
It is noteworthy that the European Border and Coast Guard Agency has confirmed a decline in attempts by Pakistanis to reach Europe illegally.
