Islamabad: (Right Now News) Wheat prices have surged significantly across the country over the past year. Compared to July 10, 2025, the price of a 20 kg wheat bag has increased to 1250 rupees in 2026.

A noticeable rise in wheat prices has been observed in all major cities, including the federal capital. Karachi has seen the highest prices, with wheat rising from 1800 rupees to 2900 rupees.

According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, cities like Peshawar, Bannu, Quetta, and Khuzdar have also experienced significant price hikes. In Islamabad, the price of a 20 kg bag has increased from 1627 to 2800 rupees.

This price increase has added to the public’s difficulties, particularly affecting the middle class. The rise in wheat prices is impacting basic necessities of life.

It is noteworthy that the inflation rate in the country has risen over the past year. There is a growing need for government measures to provide relief to the public.
