Punjab Issues Monsoon Rain Alert, Advises Precautionary Measures

Lahore: (Right Now News) The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecasted monsoon rains in various districts of the province over the next 24 hours. Relevant agencies have been advised to remain on high alert.

The PDMA spokesperson stated that rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Murree, Chakwal, and other districts. Instructions have been given to drain water from low-lying areas.

According to the DG PDMA, the Chief Minister of Punjab has ordered all commissioners, deputy commissioners, and agencies to stay alert. The provincial control room and district emergency operation centers are active 24 hours.

PDMA has instructed Rescue 1122 and WASA to be ready with staff and machinery. Citizens are advised to stay away from electric poles and hanging wires.

It is noteworthy that rain was recorded in Punjab during the last 24 hours, with Narowal receiving the highest at 51 mm. PDMA has appealed to citizens to stay in safe locations.
