Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab’s public and private medical and dental colleges have released the admission policy for MBBS and BDS programs. For the academic session 2026-27, the MDCAT is mandatory.

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) will play a central role in admissions. The MDCAT will account for 50%, FSC for 40%, and Matric for 10% of the total score. A minimum of 60% marks in FSC is required.

According to the policy, Biology and Chemistry are compulsory subjects, while candidates must pass either Physics or Mathematics. All preferences must be listed for public colleges.

There is no restriction on the number of preferences for private medical colleges. Selected candidates must submit fees within three days. The fee for public colleges is set at PKR 50,000.

It is noteworthy that there is intense competition in medical education, and this policy promises greater transparency to ensure hardworking students receive their due rights.
