Peshawar: (Right Now News) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to withdraw controversial clauses of the Privileges Act. This decision was made in response to public and media concerns.

Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan stated that the decision was taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Suhail Afridi. Consultation was also held with Provincial Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati.

Shafi Jan mentioned that the Chief Minister chaired a meeting with provincial cabinet members. Speaker Swati participated via video link.

The meeting reviewed objections to the Privileges Act. The government decided to restore the clauses to the original 1988 law.

It is noteworthy that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was formed based on public mandate. The government aims to seriously address the concerns of the public and relevant sectors.
