Kim Jong Un visits China via the new Yalu River Bridge, aiming to boost trade opportunities between China and North Korea.
Beijing: (RightNow) North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited China’s city of Dandong via the new Yalu River Bridge. This move aims to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
South Korean officials reported that Kim Jong Un arrived in China on Saturday. His visit follows the opening of the new Yalu River Bridge a week ago. This bridge connects China and North Korea over the Yalu River and could play a crucial role in improving trade relations.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang met Kim Jong Un in the border city of Dandong, but China’s Foreign Ministry has not yet released an official statement. Details of the meeting remain limited, but it could pave the way for future cooperation.
The bridge is three kilometers long and consists of four lanes, completed in 2014. However, its opening was delayed due to North Korea’s lack of roads and customs facilities.
It is noteworthy that the bridge’s activation will allow 24-hour bilateral traffic. Experts suggest this move will reduce economic barriers and is expected to increase trade.
