Islamabad: (RightNow). Mehmood Khan Achakzai refuses to resign from the position of Opposition Leader. He has rejected the demand made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) high-level committee.

In the National Assembly, Achakzai states he will not leave the position until his nominator in Adiala Jail requests it. Sources reveal that PTI’s committee demanded his resignation during a late-night meeting on Saturday.

Achakzai mentioned after his Movement for Constitutional Restoration meeting that he would resign if his nominator asked. He is the sole member of parliament from his party, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party.

Mehmood Achakzai was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition by the Speaker of the National Assembly in January. He was nominated by the PTI founder, who is currently imprisoned.

It is noteworthy that Mehmood Khan Achakzai did not participate in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa long march, which led to the end of the PTI government. There were significant disagreements among PTI-affiliated members.
