The government rejects Mahmood Achakzai’s condition for a different meeting venue, confirming it will be held at the Prime Minister’s House.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The government has rejected opposition leader Mahmood Achakzai’s condition to set a different venue for meeting the Prime Minister. Advisor to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, stated that the meeting will take place at the Prime Minister’s House.
Rana Sanaullah emphasized that the Prime Minister’s House is state property and will be used for the meeting. He added that similar demands were made previously, which is not the correct approach.
He mentioned that the Prime Minister has sent two letters to the opposition leader regarding the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and members, and the government awaits their response.
It is clear that the government is ready to meet the opposition leader and intends to welcome the dialogue. Unconditional talks with PTI are possible, but negotiations cannot occur under the condition of lifting the emergency.
It should be noted that PTI was not previously given the opportunity for talks. The government is committed to fighting terrorism and is open to discussions with PTI for cooperation.
