Sialkot: (RightNow) Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claims that a large number of mineral licenses were issued during PTI’s tenure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He alleges that individuals residing in the USA were also favored.

He further stated that defense institutions have no ownership of minerals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Asif’s statement follows the imposition of governor’s rule in the province.

The federal government imposed governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 11. According to Khawaja Asif, the aim is to improve the law and order situation in the province.

It is important to note that the number of mineral licenses increased rapidly during PTI’s tenure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The military received only one license.

Remember, the issuance of mineral licenses was 482 until 2010, reaching 3,962 by 2024. Over 500 new applications are currently under consideration.
