Governor’s rule imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the fourth time amid rising terrorism.
Peshawar: (RightNow). Governor’s rule has been imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the fourth time. President Asif Ali Zardari approved the emergency and governor’s rule on the federal cabinet’s recommendation.
The President signed the summary on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recommendation. Consequently, all provincial government powers have been transferred to the bureaucracy and the governor.
Under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution, the approval for governor’s rule and emergency was granted. Now, the administrative affairs of the province will be in the hands of Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
This action was taken due to increasing terrorism and deteriorating law and order in the province. It aims to protect the lives and property of the public.
It is noteworthy that governor’s rule has been imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa three times before. In the current situation, the federal government has used an important constitutional tool.
