Peshawar: (RightNow) In response to deteriorating security conditions, an emergency is proposed in 12 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The plan includes imposing emergency measures in eight former tribal districts and forming a FATA Council. The districts under consideration are Kurram, Upper and Lower South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan.

Under the emergency plan, the Additional Chief Secretary will lead the council. The council will also include the Additional Inspector General of Police and four local representatives from each district. This council will oversee law and order, development projects, and administrative matters, operating under federal jurisdiction, while governor rule is possible in other districts.

Sources indicate significant progress by the federal government regarding the emergency implementation in the province. A federal cabinet meeting is convened this morning, where approval of this matter is expected.

The importance of this measure lies in the need for improved security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The implementation of emergency and governor rule is hoped to bring the situation under control.

It is noteworthy that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has faced increasing security issues for some time. The government has previously taken various measures to address these challenges.
