NATO commander warns Russia of military response if Europe is attacked.
Warsaw: (RightNow) NATO’s top military commander has warned Russia that any attack on a European country will lead to NATO forces destroying the participating military powers and their systems.
US Air Force General and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Alexis Grinkevich stated that NATO is a defensive alliance and will adopt strategies to deter any attack.
He further added that if NATO is attacked, the alliance will fight back, ensuring any attack on a member country fails. NATO will target all military capabilities of the opposing forces.
This statement comes amid rising tensions between Europe and Russia. European governments accuse Moscow of sabotage, drone flights, and cyberattacks, which Russia denies.
It is noteworthy that last month, Russia warned it might use nuclear weapons if NATO attempted to blockade Kaliningrad. Russia has denied any intention to attack a European country.
