Islamabad: (RightNow) The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle has arrested a suspect involved in a UK student visa fraud. The authorities recovered Rs 1.6 million from the suspect’s possession, which belonged to the complainant.
Officials stated that a case against the suspect, Wasal Azad, was registered in February 2026. He was apprehended from a private housing society in Islamabad. The suspect is the CEO of a private company, IEIS.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, along with accomplices, defrauded the complainant Muhammad Zahid’s wife in her UK student visa case. The suspects deposited £4,000 through Teesside University’s online payment link.
However, they failed to submit the visa application and necessary documents, preventing the victim from traveling to the UK. When the complainant demanded a refund, the suspects threatened him.
It is noteworthy that the FIA has announced further investigations to determine the role of other suspects. Officials emphasized that delivering justice to victims is the agency’s top priority.
