Kyiv: (RightNow) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appeals to US President Donald Trump to request Chinese President Xi Jinping to use his influence on Russia to end the war or at least reduce tensions.

Zelensky personally told Trump that China should leverage its relations with Russia. According to him, China can play a role in easing tensions in energy and grain exports.

Trump has reportedly shown willingness to convey this message to Xi Jinping. However, as of September 25, Zelensky has not received any response from the US team regarding the outcome of the discussions.

This appeal comes at a time when the US is trying to restart negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. This could increase the chances of restoring peace in the region.
