Mumbai: (RightNow) Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel’s house was robbed of jewelry worth 5 lakh rupees. Police have arrested a domestic maid.

According to Indian media, jewelry disappeared from the Churchgate residence of Ameesha Patel’s parents. A 40-year-old maid, Seema Ghate, was taken into custody on suspicion of theft.

Police stated that Seema Ghate had been employed at Ameesha Patel’s parents’ house for one and a half years. Investigations are ongoing following a complaint by the actress’s mother, Asha Patel.

Asha Patel suspected Seema Ghate of stealing the jewelry. She had been demanding its return for 5 to 6 months.

It is noteworthy that the police presented the accused in court, where she was remanded to police custody until September 15. Further investigations are underway.
