Washington: (RightNow) Russia has vowed to continue oil sales to India despite US tariff threats. Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov stated that sanctions are attempts to exert pressure rather than foster cooperation.

The Russian ambassador criticized the US, saying it cannot offer India a better deal than Russia. He warned that energy markets would be affected if Russian oil is not sold.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov mentioned that Iran could become part of the Mecca Defense Alliance. He termed the inclusion of Egypt and Algeria as positive developments.

This issue is significant as global energy markets rely on Russian oil. For India, this is an economically important decision.

It is noteworthy that last year, the US President threatened heavy tariffs on India for purchasing Russian oil, leading India to decide against buying Russian oil under pressure.
