Karachi: (RightNow) Sindh’s senior minister Sharjeel Memon criticized PML-N leader Khawaja Asif’s statement. He urged PML-N to please its allies but avoid making Sindh a scapegoat.

Sharjeel Memon stated that the Punjab Assembly has passed resolutions twice in favor of a Saraiki province. Meanwhile, the Sindh Assembly has passed resolutions against creating more provinces in Sindh eight times.

He emphasized that PML-N should not target Sindh to satisfy its allies. Khawaja Asif criticized the PPP for supporting a Saraiki province in Punjab but opposing it in Sindh.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that they will not back down on the issue of new administrative units. He added that there is no need to be emotional about forming new administrative boundaries.

It is important to note that the division of Sindh is not just an administrative proposal but an emotionally significant issue. The Sindh Local Government Minister has shown willingness to discuss positive reform suggestions.
