Jeddah: (RightNow) Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower has reached a new milestone in its construction phase. Upon completion, it will become the world’s tallest building, surpassing Burj Khalifa.

Jeddah Tower has been constructed up to 113 floors or 454 meters high. It is designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill (AS+GG) and is being built by the Saudi Binladin Group.

Bob Forrest stated that Jeddah Tower has surpassed Malaysia’s Petronas Towers. The construction faced extreme heat during the summer months.

Once completed, the building will reach a height of 3,280 feet, making it the first building in the world to exceed one kilometer in height. It is expected to be completed by 2028.

It is noteworthy that the project began in 2008, with construction starting in 2013. Work was halted in 2018, and the COVID-19 pandemic caused further delays.
