An avalanche on Broad Peak has killed 8 climbers, with 2 still missing. The provincial minister assures all efforts in the ongoing search operation.
Skardu: (RightNow) An avalanche on Broad Peak has resulted in the death of 8 climbers. A search operation is underway to locate 2 more missing climbers.
The avalanche on Broad Peak, the world’s 12th highest mountain, has led to the discovery of 4 more bodies. So far, 8 climbers have been confirmed dead.
Out of the 4 newly found bodies, 3 have been airlifted to Skardu. The search and rescue operation continues on Broad Peak for the 2 missing climbers.
Provincial Tourism Minister Neknam Karim stated that every effort is being made to find the missing climbers. The tourism department is providing logistical support.
It is noteworthy that Broad Peak is located in the Karakoram mountain range and stands at 8,047 meters.
