Karachi: (RightNow) For the first time in Pakistan’s history, over 2,000 electric cars have arrived at Karachi Port via Roro (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipment. This development is considered a significant milestone in maritime and trade history.

The MV Grande Shanghai successfully docked at the Karachi Port terminal. This vessel has imported a large consignment of electric vehicles into the country. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Maritime Affairs stated that this is a major achievement.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, stated that the import of electric cars via Roro shipment is a historic milestone for Pakistani maritime trade. According to him, this development will further expand the country’s trade activities.

This initiative marks an important step towards a modern port system. The Federal Minister mentioned that the first Roro EV shipment at Karachi Port will boost the country’s trade activities.

It is noteworthy that Roro ships are characterized by their ability to load and unload vehicles directly, saving time and reducing logistics costs.
