The Pakistan Business Forum requests a review of the petroleum price policy to provide relief to the public and businesses.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The Pakistan Business Forum has written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging a review of the policy on increasing petroleum product prices.
Khawaja Mahboob ur Rehman, President of the Pakistan Business Forum, stated in the letter that daily price determination is causing difficulties for the public and the business community.
Recently, petrol prices increased by Rs 20 and diesel by Rs 55, exacerbating economic challenges.
The letter suggests stabilizing prices by aligning the petroleum levy with the 18% GST and reducing margins for oil marketing companies.
It is noteworthy that the government decided on daily petroleum price determination during the June 17 cabinet meeting, which has been problematic for the public and businesses.
