Karachi: (RightNow) The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Muneem Zafar Khan, announces a nationwide road blockade on August 7. He accuses the petroleum levy of becoming a form of extortion tax.

Addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, Muneem Zafar Khan demands the immediate removal of this tax. He states that a protest rally will begin from Mazar-e-Quaid to pressure the authorities.

Muneem Zafar Khan further claims that despite public protests, the authorities remain indifferent. He blames the People’s Party and MQM for worsening the public’s condition.

He mentions that during recent rains in Karachi, 200 feeders tripped, plunging the city into darkness. Despite heavy bills and taxes, people face hardships.

It is noteworthy that urban flooding is a concern in Karachi due to rains. Muneem Zafar Khan criticizes the mayor, stating that garbage is being dumped in drains, worsening the situation.
