Lahore: (RightNow) Heavy rainfall of 263 mm has disrupted life in Lahore. Roads and underpasses are submerged, and residents in the Defense area have started using boats.

The intense rain has affected low-lying areas. The Lahore Airport region recorded the highest rainfall of 263 mm. Tajpura, Mughalpura, and other areas also experienced significant damage.

Residents in Defense faced difficulties in water drainage, making the use of boats inevitable. According to WASA, 80% of the water has been drained from affected areas.

The rain has disrupted traffic, and several motorcycle accidents occurred in various areas. On Ferozepur Road, two young men died in accidents caused by rainwater.

It is important to note that the second spell of monsoon is expected to continue, and residents are advised to avoid low-lying areas and weak structures.
