Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) Azad Kashmir’s Chief Election Commissioner Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal announces general elections in three phases. He rejects calls for postponement and releases a new election schedule.
In the first phase, polling will occur on July 27 in the Mirpur division. The second phase on August 2 will cover the Muzaffarabad division and refugee seats. The third phase will see voting in the Poonch division on August 10.
The Chief Election Commissioner states that results for each phase will be released immediately after polling. The schedule change aims to improve administrative efficiency.
He mentions that phased elections will enhance security and staff deployment, ensuring transparent and organized elections.
It is noteworthy that attempts are being made to sabotage free and fair elections in Azad Kashmir. The Chief Election Commissioner has instructed law enforcement agencies to complete preparations.
