Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. They discussed the escalating tensions between Iran and the US. The Prime Minister urged both nations to return to negotiations.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s House, where matters of mutual interest were discussed. The Iranian Interior Minister conveyed a special message from the Iranian President. He appreciated Pakistan’s mediation in the Iran-US talks.
The Prime Minister expressed concern over the tensions and reiterated the commitment to strengthen ties with Iran. Both countries agreed to maintain close relations.
The Iranian Interior Minister will also meet Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. A grand parade was held in his honor at the Police Lines Islamabad, where he received a guard of honor.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian Interior Minister visited the Pakistan Monument and laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Memorial. He distributed awards among police officers and viewed the city from Shakarparian.
