Islamabad: (RightNow). The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warns of potential flooding in rivers and urban areas from July 19 to 23. According to NDMA, heavy rains in eastern and western rivers and streams may cause flooding.

NDMA’s social media statement indicates heavy rains are expected from July 20 to 23 in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and northern Punjab. A strong western wind system may further increase rainfall in these areas.

The authority reports a risk of flash floods in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and northern upper Punjab. Flood surges are also expected in the Chenab and Jhelum rivers.
