Islamabad: (RightNow) The number of candidates for the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam has significantly decreased over the past four years. In 2022, over 35,000 candidates registered, while in 2025, this number dropped to 18,000.

Statistics show that the number of participants in the exam also fell from 20,000 to 13,000. The number of successful candidates decreased from 239 in 2022 to 170 in 2025.

According to the Federal Public Service Commission, a similar trend is observed in government recruitments. The number of applicants has significantly decreased, but the success rate remains low.

In 2025, only 0.94% of registered and 1.33% of participating candidates succeeded in the CSS exam. These figures indicate intense competition.

It is noteworthy that the CSS exam has always been highly competitive due to limited seats. Experts suggest that despite fewer candidates, the competition remains fierce.
