New Delhi: (RightNow) Indian social activist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike has entered its 17th day. Concerns are rising over his deteriorating health. Wangchuk began the hunger strike demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Wangchuk joined the Cockroach Janata Party’s protest, raising his voice against the leak of exam papers affecting millions of students. He has lost 8.5 kilograms of weight.

Several opposition leaders have urged Wangchuk to end his hunger strike. Akhilesh Yadav stated that Wangchuk’s life is valuable to humanity.

This issue highlights the lack of trust in the Indian education system. Millions of students are affected by exam irregularities, increasing the risk of unemployment.

It is noteworthy that the Cockroach Janata Party’s protest has been ongoing for 24 days, demanding reforms. Wangchuk’s hunger strike is further strengthening this movement.
