Faisal Qureshi claims Indian viewers oppose Pakistani content on Netflix due to limited market.
Karachi: (RightNow). Renowned actor Faisal Qureshi has claimed that Indian viewers oppose Pakistani content on Netflix. He mentioned in a podcast that two main reasons prevent this content from being featured on the platform.
He explained that Indian viewers are not in favor of watching Pakistani content on Netflix, while the market for Netflix in Pakistan is limited. Additionally, Netflix desires each country to showcase its own reality.
Faisal Qureshi stated that openly depicting everything in Pakistan is not easy. If a filmmaker portrays the true picture of the country, they might face challenges.
He further added that most people in Pakistan do not purchase personal Netflix subscriptions but use accounts of friends or relatives living abroad.
It is noteworthy that when a new film is released in Pakistan, it is often questioned when it will be available on YouTube, which is a reason for Netflix’s limited revenue.
