Punjab Bar Council Suspends 125 Lawyers’ Licenses Over Fake Degrees

The Punjab Bar Council has suspended 125 lawyers’ licenses over fake degrees, with 1200 degrees under review.

Lahore: (Right Now News) The Punjab Bar Council has suspended the licenses of 125 lawyers due to suspicious law degrees. Show-cause notices have also been issued to these lawyers.

Chairman Punjab Bar Council Fakhar Hayat Awan has stated that the concerned lawyers have been instructed to present their original LLB degree for verification. Legal action will be taken in case of non-compliance.

According to received information, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur has declared approximately 1200 lawyers’ degrees as suspicious. Based on this list, the Punjab Bar Council has initiated verification and legal proceedings.

Fakhar Hayat Awan has clarified that a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against lawyers holding fake or suspicious credentials. No illegal activity will be tolerated.

It is noteworthy that the Punjab Bar Council has previously taken strict actions against fake credentials, resulting in the cancellation of several lawyers’ licenses.
