Geneva: (Right Now News) The World Health Organization has revealed that 92% of the global population will be affected by cancer at some stage in their lives. According to the report, 1 in every 5 individuals will suffer from cancer.

The report states that 26 million new cancer cases are reported annually, while 10 million people die each year. Cancer has become the second leading cause of death after heart diseases.

Experts predict that by 2050, the number of new cases could reach 35 million. In Pakistan, 8,000 to 10,000 children are diagnosed with cancer annually, and over 30,000 women suffer from breast cancer.

The significance of this crisis is heightened as access to treatment is limited in low-income countries. Without timely action, this crisis could cripple the global health system.

It is important to note that the global cancer burden is rapidly increasing. Experts attribute this to population growth, aging, and unhealthy lifestyles.
