Jerusalem: (Right Now News) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged the United States not to sell advanced F-35 stealth fighter jets to Turkey. He stated that such a move could disrupt the balance of power in the region, posing a threat to Israel’s security.

This request comes as US President Donald Trump is set to attend a NATO summit in Turkey. The summit may pave the way for Turkey’s re-entry into the F-35 program.

In an interview, Netanyahu expressed that selling these jets to Turkey would destabilize the Middle East’s power balance. He emphasized the importance of Israel’s air superiority and US presence in the region, suggesting that Turkey should not receive these jets or their engines.

Netanyahu highlighted that Turkish President Erdogan’s government speaks of Israel’s destruction and is influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood, which harbors animosity towards the US. Erdogan has occupied half of Cyprus and talks of conquering Jerusalem.

It is noteworthy that the US removed Turkey from the F-35 program in 2019 after Turkey purchased the Russian S-400 defense system. President Trump recently hinted at the possibility of Turkey rejoining the F-35 program.
