Chinese research identifies muscle weakness, reduced hand grip, and slow walking as early stroke signs.
Beijing: (Right Now News) Stroke is a dangerous condition that can lead to death if not treated promptly. China’s Zhejiang University has identified early signs of stroke in a new study.
According to the research, muscle weakness, reduced hand grip, and slow walking habits increase the risk of stroke. Analysis of data from 480,000 individuals revealed that the presence of these symptoms raises the stroke risk by up to 30%.
Researchers have indicated that muscle loss naturally occurs with age, but rapid loss is a warning sign. It indicates physical weakness, inflammation, and metabolic changes.
Stroke symptoms appear suddenly, including numbness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, facial drooping, and mental confusion. Women may also experience headaches and loss of consciousness.
It is important to note that after age 55, the risk of stroke doubles every 10 years. Diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity also increase the risk of this disease.
