New York: (Right Now News) Recent medical research has revealed that ultra-processed foods pose severe risks to human health. Their consumption not only leads to weight gain but also increases fat in body muscles.

According to a study published in the Radiology Journal, individuals who consume mostly ultra-processed foods in their daily diet develop fat layers in their thigh muscles. An MRI scan of a 62-year-old woman showed that fat had infiltrated her muscle fibers.

Experts state that this spread of fat in muscles affects the entire body, increasing the risk of physical weakness and diseases. This condition can be particularly severe in obese individuals. Excess fat also causes joint pain and osteoarthritis.

Ultra-processed foods not only lead to obesity but also contribute to cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, and depression. However, experts suggest that a balanced diet and exercise can improve muscle quality.

It is important to note that health experts advise consuming simple and natural homemade foods. Add fresh fruits to yogurt instead of artificial flavors, and use natural protein sources like eggs and lentils instead of commercial protein bars.
