Japan: (RightNow) Renowned automobile company Toyota has tested the GR86 Future FR Concept in the Super Taikyu Racing Series. This model features a new 2.0-liter engine.

The experimental model is equipped with a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine instead of a turbocharged one. This engine produces 220 horsepower and is part of Toyota’s new engine family.

The new engine lightens the front of the car and is expected to provide immediate accelerator response. The car also uses double wishbone suspension.

According to Gazoo Racing driver Kazuya Oshima, the engine can run at higher RPMs than expected. However, Toyota has not officially announced the next GR86 engine yet.

It is noteworthy that experts believe this experimental model showcases new technology for Toyota’s sports cars.
