Karachi: (RightNow). A new wave of deception on social media has left hundreds of Karachi residents defrauded in their pursuit of cars or homes.

According to Geo News, 10 victims have filed complaints at the Gizri police station. Syed Taha Nawaz reported being scammed after making a 20% down payment for a car offer.

Fraudsters used 2 guarantors to lure victims and sent a refund message 5 days later. Victims were promised a refund in 3 months, which was never fulfilled.

Police arrested some suspects but later released them. The fraudsters continued their scams by opening new offices in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Federal B Area.

It is noteworthy that victims have suffered losses worth lakhs at various locations. The involvement of police has allowed the fraud to expand.
