Karachi: (RightNow) The Sindh Assembly session witnessed a major uproar as opposition members chanted ‘Sindhudesh Rejected’. The Speaker adjourned the session until Monday following the chaos.

The session, chaired by Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah, began late on Friday. MQM members shouted ‘Sindhudesh Rejected’ slogans. The Speaker called for order, but the commotion persisted.

Law Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar presented the audit report in the house. Advisor Najmi Alam answered questions about slum settlements, stating that pre-2011 settlements will be leased.

MQM member Amir Siddiqui highlighted the water crisis. The Parliamentary Secretary informed that Karachi receives water on a 12-hour rotation.

It is noteworthy that MQM criticized the PPP for not approving the Sindhudesh resolution. Ali Khurshidi accused the government of bias and protested the lack of resolution presentation.
