Dhaka: (RightNow) Bangladesh is close to finalizing a deal to purchase J-10CE fighter jets and attack helicopters from China. This agreement is expected to further strengthen military cooperation between the two nations.

Government sources have revealed that a Bangladeshi panel is drafting the agreement. Zahid Rahman, an advisor to the Bangladeshi Prime Minister, has confirmed this development.

The deal is valued at $2.2 billion, under which Bangladesh will acquire 20 J-10CE jets from China. This will be Bangladesh’s largest defense purchase in recent years.

This acquisition will bolster Bangladesh’s military relations with China. It is noteworthy that China is the largest supplier of military equipment to Bangladesh.

It is important to note that the Chinese J-10CE fighter jets gained international attention after playing a crucial role in downing Indian aircraft during the Battle of Haq in Pakistan.
