New York: (RightNow) A giant asteroid named ‘Apophis’ will pass close to Earth on April 13, 2029. The asteroid is comparable in size to the Empire State Building.
Recent studies indicate that Apophis poses no threat to Earth for the next 100 years. It is expected to be visible to the naked eye.
Apophis has a diameter of approximately 340 meters and consists of primordial solar system material. It will pass at a distance of 20 thousand miles.
Experts state that the asteroid will be visible from various regions in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia. It will appear brighter than most stars.
