Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for potential floods and landslides across the country until July 24. NDMA advises special monitoring due to possible threats.

The NDMA spokesperson states that sudden floods are feared in the rivers of Hunza, Shigar, and Ghanche in Gilgit-Baltistan. Water levels in the rivers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are expected to rise.

Flood situations may also arise in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. NDMA has instructed district administrations to continuously monitor rivers and streams.

NDMA predicts flooding in Punjab and northeastern Balochistan. Urban areas in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and other cities face flood risks.

It is noteworthy that NDMA has also issued a landslide alert for Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel, and preparations for immediate aid are underway.
