Islamabad: (RightNow). Pakistan and China have agreed to establish a joint working group for effective border security. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry met with the Chinese Director General of Immigration Administration.

During the meeting held in the federal capital, discussions focused on immigration and border management issues. Both countries agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation.

The meeting decided to enhance joint measures to prevent illegal immigration, arms smuggling, and cross-border crimes. An agreement to expedite the immigration process was also reached.

The Interior Minister stated that Pakistan seeks to enhance cooperation with China and is committed to a zero-tolerance policy against illegal immigration. The government is taking indiscriminate action against those involved.

It is noteworthy that the Chinese delegation appreciated Pakistan’s efforts and stated that China will continue to support the capacity building of Pakistani institutions. The Chinese delegation also invited the Interior Minister to participate in the Public Security Forum.
